According to those projections on players that are there the Sabres would score nearly 200 goals, that's an awful lot compared to the pitiful 150 last year.......

I can agree with most of this except gionta hasn't scored 20+ goals since the 2010-11 season. Sure he'll get the ice time but I think those 20-25 goal days are behind him. Then there's Moulson who's also basically been half the player since leaving Tavares' wing. I think hell be closer to 18-22 goals this year.

*Larsson has played in 28 NHL games and has zero goals.

Under Darcy Larsson would be a blue chip prospect. Now he's likely an odd man out.

You're killing it, Pachla.

I remember watching the Sabres on the radio too, at night, under the covers, with the volume low so my parents could pretend they didn't know I was up past my bedtime.

That's right: I said watching them on the radio. If you never did it, don't criticize, you just cant understand. This is one of the reasons I know I am going to cry when RJ leaves the booth.

I did the same as a kid. No tv and you got Ted or Rick on the radio.

Dont forget though that the final 18 games or so of the season a few of these players probably wont be on the team following the trade deadline (Stafford/Stewart/Meszaros). So assuming he gets picks/prospects in return, those lost goals wont be made up, so it may not be as high as you are thinking.

I've always said what makes RJ great is his ability to paint a perfect picture of whats happening at all times on the ice. That's also what makes the NBC crew terrible. I'll be straightening up the house with an NBC game on and those tards are on some rant about apple pie or some other nonsense. I have to look over to realize the puck is in play.

Just a guess but I don't think so. If he stays for the season I would say he'd get 15-16.

While I can understand the projections(optimism) I can't see this team scoring more goals than the defending champs did last year.

Moulson-21
Hodgson-23
Ennis-18
Gionta-13
Stafford/his replacement if he gets dealt-16
Stewart/his replacement if he gets dealt-19
Girgensons-11
Foligno-12
Flynn-9
Mitchell-3
McCormick-4
Kaleta-4

Myers-11
Gorges-2
Meszaros/his replacement when he gets dealt-5
Benoit-5
Risto-6
Pysyk-4
Weber/some rando-1

About 187-200 depending on whether Reinhart stays up but I can't imagine them scoring more than that.

Is there a national TV crew in any sport that doesn't do that? The legends like RJ, Mike Lange in Pittsburgh, etc. were meant for radio, where you had to "paint the picture" because nobody can see anything. Nowadays, it seems that the TV networks don't put an emphasis on the game itself, and feel that they need to go on these tangents to get the audience intrigued. People can already see what's going on. Why do they need to paint a picture? I don't necessarily buy that line of thinking, but it's also really not an indictment on the broadcasters themselves but the TV networks. Even guys like Brent Musberger go off on tangents a lot during college football games. I've simply become used to it, which is probably why I've never once done the whole "turn down the TV, and bring up the radio broadcast" thing.

I'm sure that I forecasted a bit more on the high side for some players and injuries will no doubt creep into the equation as well. I think my Weber prediction was right on though.

To stay on topic with the Bills

Mike Schopp was right yesterday, if Manuel struggles no one will blame or remember the preseason. It means nothing.

I also like the Orton signing, but why wasn't it done a month ago?
